Regional Chapters
Rooted in Regions. United in Purpose.
India's diversity is its strength - and so is ours. IPJA's Regional Chapters ensure that the voices, challenges, and innovations of journalists from every corner of the country are represented, supported, and celebrated. From the Himalayan foothills to the coastal deltas, from tribal belts to urban newsrooms, our chapters serve as vital hubs for collaboration, advocacy, and professional growth.
What Regional Chapters Do
Each chapter operates semi-autonomously under IPJA's national charter, with elected coordinators and local committees. Their core responsibilities include:
- Organizing state-level workshops, fellowships, and press meets
- Providing rapid response support to journalists under threat
- Promoting ethical journalism in regional languages
- Building networks among rural, urban, and digital reporters
- Liaising with local authorities on media rights and safety
- Identifying and mentoring emerging talent
